call() in Client.php fails with php5

The calls to PEAR::isError() in call() in Client.php fails with php5 beta1.
scripts simply crash at this point, without printing any error messages.
everything works fine when theses PEAR::isError() calls are commented out. (2 places in the call() function in Client.php )
