$default = isset($field['default']) ? ' DEFAULT TIME'.

should be:

$default = isset($field['default']) ? ' DEFAULT'.

This bug has been fixed in CVS.

In case this was a documentation problem, the fix will show up at the
end of next Sunday (CET) on pear.php.net.
