The installation is incomplete, I got the following error message:
"could not create lock file: failed to open Stream: permission denied"

Only the directory Chess with his 5 files php is installed.

Server:XAMPP (not the light version but the full one)
command to install I have used is: pear install -f Games_Chess.tgz

Sorry but I`ve just started learning PHP and cannot say which ver. of PEAR is in the XAMPP packet.
