The API (http://pear.php.net/manual/en/package.webservices.xml-rpc.api.php) suggests that the XML_RPC_Client class has a method called setSSLVerifyPeer(). However, this method doesn't appear to be defined in the current stable (1.2.2) or beta (1.3.0RC3) versions.
