Any thought in using the PECL SASL extension to provide additional authentication mechanisms (such as "gssapi") to the the PEAR Auth_SASL module?

The PECL SASL module would need some work to allow this.. but I think it would be swell.

No thoughts here :). I wouldn't have any objections if someone were to send patches, but I don't have a GSSAPI setup on which to test.
