I'm using the PEAR front-end (0.5.1) on my local computer (PHP
4.3.11, Mac OS X 10.4) and on a server in the internet (PHP
4.4.4, Linux). On both servers the Pear Web Front-end as
installed by go-pear is very slow. It takes twenty to thirty
seconds to load a page, even longer to search or install a
package.
If an error occurs a window is opened and there is a long
debug output and and the bottom of the page the formatted
message is displayed. This should be fixed; the best would be
if the result is displayed in the main page and no popup is
used. First I missed the window because my popup blocker
blocked the window.
