I tried to install pear (through go-pear.bat) after installing wamp5_1.6.6 and failed.Then I removed WAMP and installed APACHE2.2+PHP5.2+MySQL5 separately and again failed!

The common feature was PHP 5.2 installed in both.

I then took PEAR folder from php-5.1.6-Win32 and overwrote the PEAR folder of PHP 5.2, and ran go-pear.bat again.

And 'presto' it worked like magic. I had pear up and running.
