When I try to install PEAR in PHP 5.2.0 (which by the way has been release on Nov 2nd, and is no RC anymore IMHO) using the go-pear.bat executable I get the results in the actual results section.

Expected result:
----------------
Normal installtion of PEAR.

Actual result:

If I download the go-pear.phar file I get errors while the file is a html file. Therefore I have opened the URL and copy-paste the code in a text file and named that go-pear.phar. But when I try to install I get the following error:

C:\Program Files\php\php-5.2.0>go-pear
ERROR: manifest length read was "3263554" should be "138414881"Press any key to

The PHP guys are not very cooperative... they have marked the bug as bogus stating that I have to use the work around or have to wait for the next release of PHP :-(

Solved the problem by extracting the go-pear.phar file from the 5.1.6 windows binary release from the php site (http://www.php.net/get/php-5.1.6-Win32.zip/from/a/mirror)
